Privacy Policy

AussieCellMap ("the App") is operated by YK Co ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information on our own servers.

The App does not require you to create an account or sign in. Address searches and dropped-pin coordinates may be sent to Apple to provide location results, as described below.

2. Location & Search Data

  • Address searches — When you search for an address, the query is sent to Apple MapKit for geocoding. This is handled entirely by Apple's services and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Recent searches — Your last 20 search terms are saved locally on your device so you can quickly repeat a search. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time from the Past Searches tab.
  • Dropped pins — Pin coordinates are held in memory and may be sent to Apple for reverse geocoding. A resulting address may be saved locally in recent searches.

3. Tower Data

Mobile tower information comes from publicly available ACMA radiocommunications licence records and the ACCC Mobile Infrastructure Report site data. These files are bundled with the App and processed on your device. No network requests are made to fetch tower data.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses only Apple-provided frameworks (MapKit, SwiftUI). We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

5. Data Storage

All data the App uses is stored locally on your device:

  • A local SQLite database containing ACMA tower records.
  • Bundled ACCC site files used to validate technology labels where sites can be reliably matched.
  • Recent search history stored in UserDefaults.
  • A preference flag for the coverage disclaimer.

We do not upload tower data or recent-search history to our own servers. Apple processes location searches and reverse geocoding through its services.

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
